The main youth event of the year in checkers-100 (fast and lightning game) will be held in picturesque Ivano-Frankivsk from June 15 to 16, 2026.

About the Ukrainian Draughts-100 Championship 2026

Ukrainian Youth Championship 2026 (draughts 100, rapid & blitz) is a prestigious national youth competition that brings together the best young draughts players in the country. The tournament will be held in two disciplines: rapid (fast game) and blitz (lightning game). The competition is held according to the Swiss or round-robin system depending on the number of participants, in accordance with the official rules of the FMJD (World Draughts Federation).

Historical background

Draughts-100 (international draughts) has deep traditions in Ukraine. Holding youth championships contributes to the popularization of intellectual sports and the identification of new talents who later represent Ukraine on the international stage. Ivano-Frankivsk has repeatedly become a hospitable host of all-Ukrainian competitions, confirming its status as one of the important centers of development of draughts.

Venue and infrastructure

The competition will be held in the city of Ivano-Frankivsk, which is known for its European architecture, cozy streets and developed infrastructure. The gaming hall will be equipped with everything necessary for a comfortable game. Participants and guests of the city have access to convenient transport, a large number of hotels, hostels and restaurants near the venue.

Organization, sponsors and prize fund

The tournament is held under the auspices of the Draughts Federation of Ukraine and with the support of the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine. Sponsors are local patrons and partners of the federation. Winners and prize-winners will be awarded cups, medals, diplomas of the corresponding degrees, as well as valuable prizes from sponsors.

Participants and conditions of participation

Boys and girls in the appropriate age categories who have passed the qualifying stages and have the appropriate sports qualifications are allowed to participate. The tournament is rated, the results will be sent for calculating the national rating and the international FMJD rating. The conditions of participation include mandatory prior registration and medical clearance.
