Ukrainian Junior Championships under 10 (chess)

From June 3 to 12, 2026, the city of Vinnytsia will turn into the center of intellectual sports in Ukraine. It is here that the Ukrainian Chess Championship (classical, rapid and blitz) among boys and girls under 10 years old will be held. This is a key event for young chess players who dream of great victories and a professional career.

Venue and infrastructure

The competition will be hosted by the City Children's and Youth Sports School No. 6, located at 24 Teatralna St. Vinnytsia is one of the most comfortable cities in Ukraine for holding such events, famous for its hospitality, historical architecture, and developed infrastructure, which ensures a comfortable stay for both athletes and their companions.

About the tournament: organization and rules

The championship is held under the auspices of the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine and the Chess Federation of Ukraine.

  • Status: The competition is official and has the status of a rating (IV rank).

  • Age of participants: Boys and girls born in 2016 and younger.

  • Qualification: Athletes with a category not lower than I-junior are allowed to participate.

The tournament will be held according to the Swiss system: classical chess - 9 rounds, rapid - 9 rounds, blitz - 11 rounds. Time control in classical chess will be 90 minutes per game with an additional 30 seconds for each move.

Prize Fund and Opportunities

The organizers have provided cash prizes for the winners in each discipline separately among boys and girls. In addition, the winners and silver medalists in classical chess receive the right to represent Ukraine at the World and European Championships in 2026!
