Spring 2026 promises to be hot not only thanks to the Turkish sun, but also due to fierce battles on the black and white fields. From April 20 to 29, 2026, the picturesque town of Kemer will become the epicenter of European draughts. The best young talents of the continent will gather here to determine the strongest in three disciplines: classical, rapid and blitz.

About the tournament and organizers

The competition is held under the auspices of the International Draughts Federation (IDF). It is an official ranking tournament, the results of which directly affect the world rankings. The championship is held separately for boys and girls in six age groups:

  • Juniors and juniors under 27 years of age (U27)

  • Cadets under 20, 17, 14, 11 and 9 years old

Such a wide coverage of age categories makes the tournament a real "forge of personnel" for professional sports.

Historical background and world ranking

Drafts-64 has deep historical roots, dating back to the ancient world. Modern European youth championships have been held for several decades, gradually expanding their geography. Today, this tournament has a high rating at the world level, since it is here that the stars of future grandmasters often shine. In past years, such famous athletes as multiple world champion Gavril Kolesov and young leaders of modern draughts have participated in such competitions, which confirms the prestige of the championship.

Venue: Kemer — the pearl of Antalya

The tournament will be hosted by one of the luxurious 5-star hotels in the Kemer region. This place was not chosen by chance: the developed infrastructure allows for the holding of competitions of the highest level, providing participants with comfortable accommodation, high-quality food and modern gaming halls.

Kemer is known for its unique combination of coniferous forests, the majestic Taurus Mountains and the crystal clear Mediterranean Sea. In April, the pleasant spring warmth reigns here, ideal for walks between parties.

Terms of participation and prize pool

Athletes are allowed to participate upon application from national federations. Conditions include:

  • Tournament fee: is usually around 60 USD for all three programs (or 25 USD for a separate discipline).

  • Prize fund: is formed by the organizers with the support of sponsors (such as the Checkers Development Promotion Fund) and includes both cash prizes for senior categories and commemorative cups and medals for the youngest.
