XIII PCBEST CUP 2026

Results

From June 26 to 28, 2026, the Polish city of Szczecin will once again host one of the oldest and most prestigious commercial tournaments in Europe — the PCBEST CUP. This year, the competition is held under the auspices of the FMJD and for the thirteenth time (in an updated format) brings together the elite of hundred-square draughts.

Historical Background: From Local Start to Global Recognition

The tournament has roots dating back to 1994. Its constant ideological inspirer and organizer is Jacek Pawlicki (many-year technical director of FMJD and developer of the DraughtsArbiter system).

The tournament name comes from the company PCBEST, which has been supporting the development of checkers software and competitions for decades. Over its history, the PCBEST CUP has seen almost all modern legends on the podium: from Alexander Shvartsman to Natalia Sadovskaya. The tournament is famous for its "home" atmosphere, combined with impeccable digital refereeing.

How it was in 2025 (XII PCBEST CUP)

Last year's tournament was held in February and had a rapid format (15' + 3'').

  • Winner: In a tense fight, the representative of Poland won the gold medal.

  • Prize fund: Last year it was PLN 4,500, which was a record for the short format.

  • Feature: The 2025 tournament became a testing ground for new data transfer protocols into the new FMJD rating system.

XIII PCBEST CUP 2026: Що нового?

This year, the organizers have significantly raised the bar:

  1. Prize Fund: A record 20,000 PLN (approx. 4,750 euros).

  2. Time control: Switch to classic (1 hour + 30 seconds), which makes the results more significant for the world ranking.

  3. Status: The tournament is included in the official FMJD calendar.

Technical regulations:

  • Venue: Radisson Blu Hotel, Szczecin.

  • System: Swiss, 7 rounds.

  • Schedule: * June 26-27 — main tours of the classic program.

    • June 28 — final rounds and Blitz tournament (3' + 2''), which will begin immediately after the main part closes.

Participants and favorites:

27 players from 8 countries have already registered for the start of the XIII Cup. The average tournament rating (2054) indicates a very high density of results. More than half of the participants (15 people) have international titles (GMI, MI, MF), which guarantees the absence of "passing" games.
