Deutsche Meisterschaft in Dame-100
German Championship in Queen-100 (2026)
Results
This is Germany's main annual international draughts tournament (100-square).
Where and when
-
City: Korbach, Germany. This city in the state of Hesse is a traditional center for German draughts players.
-
Location: The tournament is organized under the auspices of the IGDD (Interessengemeinschaft Damesport Deutschland) — the German Draughts Federation.
-
Dates: February 11 — February 14, 2026.
Regulations and format
The tournament is held according to the high standards of the FMJD, which allows players to increase their international rating:
-
Time control: Classic (1 hour 20 minutes + 1 minute for each move made).
-
System: Swiss system, 7 rounds.
-
Referee: Jan Zioltkowski (international experienced referee).
Participants and warehouse
Currently, there are 9 players on the roster. The lineup is very specific:
-
Favorites: Among the participants there are 4 candidates for FMJD master (CMF). This is a strong level, although there are no grandmasters (GMI) yet.
-
Geography: Representatives from 3 federations participate. In addition to Germans, they are often joined by players with licenses from other countries living in Germany.
-
Average rating: 2024 (quite serious amateur and semi-professional level).
History and Context
Germany is not a world leader in draughts (like the Netherlands or Ukraine), so their championship is often held in a private atmosphere.
-
Korbach became the de facto "capital" of German draughts thanks to the activity of the local club and Jan Ziolkowski.
-
The tournament is a qualifying tournament: the winner gets the right to represent Germany at the European and World Championships.
