1. Classic game (December 14–19)

In the most prestigious discipline, the fight went on until the last round.

  • 🥇 Yuriy Bobkov (Zaporizhzhya region) — Champion of Ukraine. Scored 10 points out of 14 possible.

  • 🥈 Matvei Kolesnikov (Mykolaiv region) — 9 points.

  • 🥉 Rostislav Leszczynskiy (Kyiv) — 9 points.

Жінки:

  • 🥇 Olena Korotka (Dnipropetrovsk region) — Champion of Ukraine. She scored 9 points out of 12 possible.

  • 🥈 Olga Baltazhy (Ivano-Frankivsk region) — 8 points.

  • 🥉 Lyudmila Litvinenko (Zaporizhzhya region) — 7 points.


2. Rapid Play and Blitz (December 20–21)

In short controls, the results were as follows:

  • Rapid: In the men's event, the experienced Artem Ivanov (Ivano-Frankivsk) celebrated the victory, confirming his status as one of the leaders of the world ranking.

  • Blitz: Also distinguished by a high density of results, where the winners were again representatives of Zaporizhia and Dnipropetrovsk regions.


📝 Interesting facts about the tournament:

  • Masters' dominance: Yuriy Bobkov was able to outdo several titled grandmasters, which became one of the main sensations of the tournament.

  • Native walls: Olga Baltazhy, playing in her hometown, showed a consistently high result, losing only to Olena Korotka in the fight for gold.

  • System: The tournament was held according to the Swiss system with 7 rounds (classic) and 9 rounds (blitz/rapid).


Elena Korotka once again confirmed her status as the country's strongest chess player, and Yuriy Bobkov secured a place in the main team for the next season.
