Historical heritage and source of inspiration

The history of Sedniv dates back to the times of Kyivan Rus, as evidenced by the remains of an ancient settlement. However, the greatest fame was brought to the village by the Lyzohub family, who owned it for many years. It was thanks to this family that Sedniv became an important cultural center, a magnet for creative personalities.

Taras Shevchenko often visited here, finding inspiration in the local landscapes, writing poetry and painting. Prominent Ukrainian writers, including Leonid Glibov, and numerous artists who celebrated its unique beauty in their works, also visited and created Sedniv. Today, the Lyzohubiv estate and the St. George's Church, built without a single nail, are living evidence of that glorious era.
