About the tournament and historical background
This tournament is the most important competition for women draughts players in the world, held every two years. Its history dates back to 1973 when the first Women's World Championship took place in the Netherlands. Since then, the tournament has raised many outstanding players who have left their mark on history.

Most successful player: Zoja Golubeva, who won the title 15 times.

Famous winners: Winners include representatives from countries such as the USSR, Latvia, Ukraine, Russia, and Poland. For example, Darya Tkachenko, who is one of the most successful Ukrainian draughts players.
The 2025 tournament will feature 20 players from various countries. The competitions will be held under the Swiss system in 9 rounds. Classic time control is set for all games: 90 minutes for the first 45 moves, and then 30 minutes to the end of the game with an increment of 30 seconds per move, starting from the 46th. According to Ukrainian sources, four Ukrainian grandmasters will be among the participants: Olena Korotka, Viktoriia Motrychko, Olha Baltazhy, and Yuliia Makarenkova.
